Anchor into Growth Potential

Before anything grows, roots go down.

Not to be seen,

but to be stable.

Sometimes our discomfort comes from trying to “rise” without rooting first.

In other words, we sometimes aim to expand before we have set a wide base for ourselves to use as a platform for our potential growth. Then our "rise" feels more like a stretch beyond our capacity, rather than an easeful expansion of what is already underneath us, or central to our core.

A tree puts forth a branching system that can be sustained by it's roots.

Extensive branching equals an extensive and complex root system also; for nourishment, stability, and harmonious relationships to the other trees, plants, and minerals that share the same soil. Without this wise growth below ground, a tree's branches might grow to be brittle, stunted, or become so top-heavy that the tree could be severely effected by inclemient weather. At best it might loose some twigs or leaves, and at worst it might completely topple over.

A tree without strong rooting may struggle to fulfill its potential to blossom and flower.

So, how do you redirect your focus from over-reaching or over-extending into a growth period of rooting?

More questions to explore:

Have you stretched yourself outward more than you've anchored inward?

Is your canopy larger or wider than your root system?

What would it look like this week to tend your soil instead of imagining how you will branch out?

What practices do you have in your life that help you feel stable and secure?

How do you see yourself growing your grounding practices?

Shift your footing, shimmer in the crown. ✨🌳

Where the Sacred Self is Reborn Through the Wisdom of Earth, Energy, and Soul

I acknowledge that I live and love under the blue sky, on "the land where the waters reflect the clouds", Mni Sota Makoce or Minnesota, and I strive to honor and respect the sacred relatives and sovereign indigenous nations that historically tended this land before me.
